Dinner 28/03 Fish and sauce is a quick dinner fix with barramundi fish and ingredients already found in the fridge and pantry. Die Ergebnisse, die wir in unserem Leben erzielen, sind zu einem signifikanten Teil von wiederkehrenden Verhaltensmustern abhängig. D.h., wenn wir neue Ergebnisse produzieren wollen, müssen wir neue Routinen etablieren🔗. . Jeder von uns hat sicher schon zigmal den Entschluss gefasst, ungewünschte Verhaltensmuster abzulegen und durch sinnvollere zu ersetzen. Da wir bekanntermaßen Gewohnheitstiere sind und nur allzu gern an uns Vertrautem festhalten, ist das logischerweise eine Herausforderung 🤗. . Die folgenden 4 Regeln können dabei helfen, neue Routinen mit mehr Leichtigkeit zu kultivieren. ➡️ Schaffe unübersehbare Reize (Wenn du z.B. mehr lesen willst 📙, lege das Buch auf dein Kopfkissen oder stelle deine Sportschuhe neben dein Bett, wenn du morgens laufen möchtest 👟 ) ➡️ Sorge dafür, dass es attraktiv ist (Verknüpfe die neue Routine mit einem großen Ziel und visualisiere dieses regelmäßig ) 🔥 ➡️ Mach es dir so einfach wie möglich (Binde eine neue Gewohnheit in eine bereits existierende ein - z.B. telefonieren oder Hörbuch hören auf dem Weg zur Arbeit ) 🚗 ➡️ Dokumentiere die Einhaltung (z.B. mit einem habit tracker - belohne dich, wenn du am Ball bleibst und gehe liebevoll mit dir selbst um, falls du es mal ausfallen lässt ) 📓 . Establishing a routine can be challenging. When a behavior or thought pattern is practiced enough, our brains eventually adapt and turn it into an automatic process (i.e. habit ) so it can can save the mental energy for other more novel experiences. However, when this adaptation mechanism starts spreading into areas that require more forethought (i.e our thought patterns/ our goals/ our physical health/ our ego-driven behavior ), it becomes a problem - costing us our emotional well-being and happiness. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To cope with distress, we often start to engage in maladaptive behaviors. It is easy to transport our mind away from reality to a place where it feels safe, at least temporarily. Some ways we do this is by: - mindlessly scrolling our phones - ruminating over the past - overthinking about the future - making plans we never keep - setting goals we never follow through with - excessively consuming alcohol/food/drugs to numb ourselves - procrastinating and avoiding responsibilities ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Change requires being uncomfortable. It means not making the same choice you made the day before. This is extremely difficult. Your brain and body will resist change. You are basically working against what you have learned all this time. This is why it is imperative that you maintain this new mindset throughout the day – this can be done by journaling or meditating every day for 5-10 minutes. And if you can do this, you will slowly start to notice yourself changing for the better. Celebrating our small victories is so important, especially during incredibly challenging times. We are quick to notice where we fall short and judge ourselves for it. But the little things we do for ourselves everyday usually go unnoticed. This is unfortunate because these mini victories fuel us and allow us to develop new habits. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lately, a small victory for me has been getting ready right after I wake up. It helps me start my day on a positive note. Small victories vary from person to person, but basically these are things we do successfully that make us feel positive or give us a sense of accomplishment. For example, eating a healthy meal, baking something fun, saying “no” when I really did not want to do something, squeezing in 10 minutes of physical exercise, or getting some sunlight in are all small victories for me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I encourage you to take some time out from your day to notice your small victories. Get excited about them. Share them with others. MORNING! 👋🏽 De dag weer heerlijk begonnen met mijn ochtendroutine (doelen doornemen - the five minute journal - planning voor vandaag maken - mediteren - lezen ) en een havermoutje 🍌💫 Iets wat mij enorm helpt in deze gekke periode (maar normaal ook ), is een vaste start van de dag. En dit kan jou ook helpen! Waarom? De dingen die je het eerste uur van de dag doet, zijn heel bepalend voor je stemming, energie en focus de rest van de dag! Mocht je dus jezelf ergens in willen verbeteren/ontwikkelen deze periode, dan zou ik beginnen met je ochtendroutine: kijk het eerste uur niet op je telefoon, lees een lekker boek, ga tekenen, neem een warme douche, loop een rondje, zet ontspannen muziek op, verwen jezelf met een voedzaam ontbijtje... doe dingen waar je blij en rustig van wordt! 🤙🏽🌈💦🌞🍍 Dan heb je dat alvast in the pocket!! Tough emotions are quick to expand, even into areas that are completely unrelated to their cause. Having the open communication needed to check in with our partner and let them know that we are going through an inner struggle will allow them to know that it is time to treat you gently and hold space for you if need be. The only way for this to work is if we make sure to check in with ourselves multiple times a day. This way we can know the state of our mind and the way our emotions are flowing. If we forget to check in with ourselves it will become easy to project our tension onto others that have nothing to do with the cause of our tension. People often hand their tension over to others without being aware that someone else had done the same to them. People continue passing the tension from one person to another until it lands in the hands of someone who is either unwilling to accept another's tension or does accept it but then knows how to process it and let it go. The more people who are open to inner work and have techniques that help them let go/heal, the more points there will be in the giant web of humanity where harm will not be able to spread. The mind attempts to see the world in a way that reaffirms its conditioning. When it interacts with new events it immediately connects them with familiar events of the past, creating a pathway for old thoughts and emotions to resurface to the concious level of the mind. The mind is first allowing the past to react to what is happening now, which not only strengthens the old pattern that comes up but limits our ability to observe things objectively with a fresh and balanced perspective. Essentially, the present is categorized and understood through its similarity to the past. Our ability to clearly observe and respond to the present is enhanced when we begin to actively cultivate the mind through a technique that can release the patterns of the past, like an effective form of meditation. When we cleanse the subconscious we can go from having the past control our reactions to simply having the past inform our well thought out behaviors. The memories don't go away, but the dense energy attached to the memories that push our behaviors do go away. With effort, patience and practice we can give ourselves the moment we need to come back to the present and live life in a new way. Sending love to all beings.
