So, very enthusiastically she experiments new dishes every evening just to keep up the spirit of everyone. This newly invented dish is merely an improvised version of an authentic odia menu with the main ingredient of raw bananas or plantin. It is boiled, smashed and mixed with oyher leftover ugly vegetables and pan fried with minimal oil. Si, leíste bien. Good morning! Wanted to share a few things I regularly do to help keep up my immune system. These @amazinggrass superfood tablets have become part of my morning routine, along with my daily cup of coffee, of course 😉 I love these and started taking them long before this virus hit, but now I’m drinking them every morning without fail. The foods on the right certainly have their place. But you don’t HAVE TO eat them. I’ve eaten each substitution above and enjoyed them. Cauliflower rice is a great substitute for rice if calories are a concern, and it can be a great way to add volume to your food… but I’m not completely giving up regular rice. Diet culture seems to demonize these foods on the left, and I’m here to remind you that you can eat them if you want to. Too many people are afraid to eat rice or pasta because “simple carbs” are touted as horrible for weight loss. But that’s just not true. Will it be easier to lose weight if you give up pasta for zucchini noodles? Yeah, probably. But in this nightmare scenario, you’re also never eating any pasta, and that sounds terrible. If you love pasta, you should allow yourself to have it sometimes. It doesn’t need to be every single day, but you don’t need to sacrifice every meal you eat. Look, if you love the foods on the right, more power to you. They’re all very healthy options. But if you’re forcing yourself to eat them because you think you CAN’T have those foods on the left, you have been seriously misled. Rice won’t make you fat. Neither will pasta. Neither will bread or wraps. No single food ever will. People will undoubtedly show up in the comments to yell about insulin spikes from carbs… they’re quite the passionate bunch, but that’s not at all relevant here. The foods on the right have their place. But so do the foods on the left. Nutrition isn’t all-or-nothing. Lettuce haul to go with dinner last night. Some of the plants are getting tall and will bolt soon so we concentrated on harvesting from those, while others seem to have a new lease on life after thinning the bed out a bit. Had this whole colander with an olive oil/lemon juice/balsamic/salt/pepper dressing, some sliced avocado, and baby garden carrots, and Kristian made some burgers on the grill. 🍔🥗😋 . And QUESTION! Does anyone have a recco for a good salad spinner? Ours officially bit the dust — it was a collapsible plastic one and the rubber is all worn and has holes in it which makes a watery mess when I spin it 😂 DM me a link if there’s one you love!

Juicing celery every morning means I go through a lot of organic celery in a week. One of our new hobbies during these social distancing times has been learning to regrow celery after using it. You can do so by placing the butt of the celery in a cup of water but only filled enough so that the bottom of the butt is under water not the top. Make sure it’s in an area of your house that gets plenty of sunlight. Give it about a week or two in the glass, refilling it with water as it absorbs it and then transfer it to soil and continue to water it everyday.

Handvo is a traditional Gujarati savory cake made with rice,lentils and veggies. We made this with whatever veggies and ingredients were available to us at this time of lockdown on a tava ,slow cooked for around an hour. Made with semolina, yogurt,bottlegourd, carrots,onions mixed along with the required spices into a thick batter and allowing it to soak in for around 4 hours before we baked it . The tempering was done with toasted sesame(til ) and mustard (sarso ) seeds and then baked. Served hot along with ketchup or spicy green/red chutney. Lunch timeeee 👅⠀ • • • ⠀ Today I had a sort of stir fry- couscous was with chopped pork and lots of veggies fried in soy sauce and honey 😋 a really yummm and filling lunch which only took 10 mins to make! ⠀ ⠀ • • • ⠀ ■ 1/2 pork chop ⠀ ■ 1/2 red and yellow pepper⠀ ■ 1 salad tomato⠀ ■ mushrooms⠀ ■ peas⠀ ■ green beans ⠀ ■ red onion ⠀ ■ 40g cous cous cooked in vegetable stock ⠀ ■ light soy sauce ⠀ ■ tsp honey

Chickpeas and spinach on toast for dinner 😋. Fry 1 onion in 2tbsp of oil and thrown in a chopped onion and 4 crushed garlic cloves chopped. Fry until golden then add 1 and half tsp of turmeric, 1tsp of cumin, 1tsp of corriander powder, half a tsp of nutmeg, 1 tsp of garam masala, a quarter of a tsp of hot chilli powder, half a tsp of cinnamon powder and fry for a few mins then add 2 tbsp of tomato paste and a can of chickpeas and plenty of spinach. Roasted Cauliflower Steak Nourish Bowl 🤤 Created by @nourishingalex 💕⁣ Served with Brown Rice, Red Kidney Beans, Cucumber, Avocado, Caramelised Onion Hummus & Spinach 🥒🥬⠀ ​⠀ Recipe 👇⠀ Roasted Cauliflower Steaks:⁣⠀ - 1 head of cauliflower (about 600g roughly ) ⁣⠀ - 1tsp onion granules ⁣⠀ - 1tsp garlic granules ⁣⠀ - 1/2tsp smoked paprika ⁣⠀ - 2tsp nutritional yeast⁣⠀ - olive oil ⁣⠀ - pumpkin seeds/sunflower seeds or both (optional ) ⁣⠀ - crushed sea salt & black pepper⁣⠀ - 1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley for garnish. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ Method:⁣⠀ 1. Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan/400F/gas mark 6. Line a high sided baking tray with nonstick baking parchment. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ 2. Slice the cauliflower lengthways into thick slices using a large knife, then place them onto the baking tray.⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ 3. Drizzle the cauliflower steaks with a little olive oil until all sides of the cauliflower steaks are saturated. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ 4. Add all the dry seasonings into a small bowl including the salt and pepper, then mix well until fully combined. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ 5. Sprinkle the seasoning all over the cauliflower steaks on all sides until evenly coated.⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ 6. Cover the baking tray with tin foil and bake in the oven for 6mins, then take off the foil. Sprinkle the cauliflower steaks with seeds, then place back into the oven for a further 10-15 mins. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ 7. Turn them over halfway through cooking time so both sides are crisp. Garnish with the chopped parsley ⠀ Enjoy 😉

Feel free to double up the portions to make a big batch of Panang Curry!⁣ .⁣ INGREDIENTS (makes 1-2 servings )⁣⁣:⁣ 1/2 block of firm tofu, drain, cut into your preferred shape⁣⁣⁣ Veggies pairing: zucchini, carrots, bell peppers, red onion (or any of your favorite veggies )⁣⁣⁣ 1 tbsp sambal (for homemade version- visit WoonHeng's recipe highlights )⁣⁣⁣ 2 tbsp sweet & sour 'fish' sauce (for the homemade verison- visit WoonHeng's recipe highlights )⁣⁣⁣ 1 tsp coriander powder/chopped cilantro root⁣⁣⁣ 1/2 tsp turmeric powder⁣⁣⁣ Few Thai lime leaves (see sub below ) - thinly sliced⁣⁣⁣ 1/2 cup coconut milk + 3/4 cup water/veggie stock⁣⁣⁣ Oil, salt, coconut sugar⁣⁣⁣ Your favorite grain⁣⁣, such a steamed rice⁣ .⁣ INSTRUCTIONS:⁣ 1. In a heated non-stick pan with no oil, pan fry tofu until golden brown (optional step ). Remove and set aside.⁣⁣⁣ 2. Using the same pan, pour in coconut milk and water, cook for a few seconds. Then, add in sambal, spices, Thai lime leaves, 'fish' sauce, and all veggies along with the tofu.⁣⁣ 3. Simmer until sauce thickens and all veggies are fully cooked through, about 1 minute in med-high heat. Season with salt and coconut sugar (if needed ). Serve warm with your favorite grain, such a steamed rice. Enjoy!⁣ .⁣ Sub with lime zest + 1 teaspoon lime juice for Thai lime leaves. Add towards the end of cooking.

[Menù settimanale dal 6 al 12 aprile] Non sempre lo pianifico, spesso andiamo “a sentimento”. In questo periodo il menù mi rende semplice le cose, mi toglie un pensiero, anzi mi aiuta a gestire i pensieri, nonché il frigo, il congelatore e la dispensa. ❗️Può subire variazioni, deve essere flessibile. La scorsa settimana ad esempio non ho mai mangiato i wasa, nè il tonno, ho rimandato la farinata a stasera... 🥩 carne: 2-3v/sett (colore rosso ) Il giorno di Pasqua sicuramente inseriremo carne, quindi anche questa settimana ho preferito diminuire la frequenza ad 1 volta, perché è congelata e può aspettare. 🐟 pesce: 3v/sett (colore azzurro ) Presente 2 volte sotto forma di condimento per la pasta, 1 volta in insalata, 1 come secondo piatto al forno con le #alichips . 🥙legumi: 2-4v/sett (colore verde ) 3 volte, 3 tipi diversi di legumi e diverse modalità. 🍳uova: 2v/sett (colore viola ) Le uova mi salvano diversi pranzi e cene e spesso ne inseriamo più di 6 a settimana, tra colazioni e pasti principali. 🧀formaggi: 2v/sett (colore arancio ) Sicuramente sforerò a 4, tra pizza e il giorno di Pasqua, perché nel timballo c’è un po’ di tutto: uova carne formaggio.
